As the Internet infrastructure grows in complexity, so do hackers in the sophistication of their methods. A standard login-password pair, therefore, may be not enough to keep your funds in safety. If a hacker gets access to your e-mail, your deposits might be in danger.
To prevent this from happening, we recommend you to enable two-factor authentication (also known as 2FA). It requires physical access to your device to log in, thus significantly increasing the degree of security.
You will be asked to enter your 2FA code each time you login to your account or submit a withdrawal request.
Important notice:
2FA is required for any transaction, otherwise you will not be able to proceed with it.
At Latoken we have two options for users to receive their 2FA code, along with an additional layer of security via E-mail Verification code, that can not be disabled. You can learn more about each option by clicking links below:
Google Authenticator
Used to confirm and secure transactions. Strongly recommended for account security
SMS Verification
Alternative option to Google Auth, less secure but also works for transactions
Email Verification
Additional layer of security that can not be disabled on any account
Google Authenticator
This 2FA method uses a popular Google Authenticator app, available on both iOS and Android devices, that runs independently from your Latoken exchange account and generates codes every 30 seconds.
Enable Google Auth
1. Open your Account settings then tap on "Security"
2. Tap on the slider on the right from Google Auth and follow the instruction proposed in the next screen. Please notice: codes change every 15 seconds, so you should be fast :)
Also keep in mind that you should have the time on your device synchronized via Internet: without it the technology won't work at all.
Don’t forget to write down the code given in step 3 as you can later use it to restore Google Authenticator on your device in case you reset or loose it.
From now on, you should enter the LATOKEN code each time you sign in or withdraw tokens as your 2FA code.
Disable Google Auth
If you have access to your current Google Auth code, to disable 2fa you should simply toggle the option OFF in the settings (will require you to enter the code).
If you no longer have access to Google Auth or the backup code, please raise a ticket with our support to reset your 2fa:

SMS Verification
Verification method via SMS is very simple. Each time you login to your account or make a withdrawal request, SMS message will be sent to your phone with a code that you will then need to enter in order to confirm your action on Latoken platform.
Enable SMS Verification
You can do it as follows:
1. Open your Account settings then tap on "Security"
- Tap on the slider on the right from SMS verification and follow the instruction proposed in the next screen.
Once you enter the received SMS code, your SMS verification will be activated and such message will be sent every time to confirm your action on the platform.
Disable SMS Verification
If you have access to your current phone number, to disable 2fa you should simply toggle the option OFF in the settings (will send you sms code to confirm).
If you no longer have access to your phone number and can not restore it, please raise a ticket with our support to reset your 2fa:

Email Verification
This security option is enabled by default and can not be turned off on Latoken platform. It serves as another layer of security for our users on top of normal 2FA confirmation via Google Auth or SMS message.
When making some actions on the platform, like logging in or making a withdrawal, an email may be sent to your email address (the one on which your Latoken account is registered) with the following message:
Please enter the 6 digit code received (example above) in order to confirm your action on Latoken platform.
Lost access to your Email address?
If you no longer have access to your Email address and can not restore it, please raise a ticket with our support to change Email address for your account:
