As the Internet infrastructure grows in complexity, so do hackers in the sophistication of their methods. A standard login-password pair, therefore, may be not enough to keep your funds in safety. If a hacker gets access to your e-mail, your deposits might be in danger.
To prevent this from happening, we recommend you to enable two-factor authentification (also known as 2fa). It requires physical access to your smartphone to log in, thus significantly increasing the degree of security.
You can do it as follows:
- Open the Account Settings and click on the switch of Two factor authentication.
- Scan the barcode using your device with Google Authentificator app. If you do not have one installed, you can get it here.
- The 2fa code named SecretKey should appear in your app. Enter it in the text field in the LATOKEN Wallet before it gets refreshed and click "Save".
From now on, you should enter the SecretKey each time you sign in as your 2fa code.
- To disable 2fa you should simply turn the switch off. Please beware: the next 2fa code will be named SecretKey as well. Do not be confused!
